SNL does the VP debate
Finally got around to watching SNL’s very funny take on the VP debate:
MPAA wants to control your TV, and stereo, and DVR
MPAA’s SOC or Selectable Output Control permanent waiver request is complicated and probbably best described with pretty pictures like this video:
Here are some nice write-ups:

It’s Joss Whedon, and It’s “Dr. Horrible”
A musical about a super-hero and a super-villain brought to you by Joss Whedon and comprised of 3 10-minute-ish acts, available on July 15, 17, and 19 and disappearing from the web on July 20th. I guess there are some good side effects to last year’s writer’s strike.

I really like this ad but I’m not quite sure why I do:
My wife gets a great big kick out of this one:
Everything cancelled is new again

50 Greatest independant films
It’s the weekend and if you’re looking for a movie perhaps this list may help you setup your netflix queue, blockbuster visit, Tivo, or even next possible purchase. Empire online put together this list of the 50 greatest indie films, which I originally noticed sometime this week on digg.com. I’ve only seen a handful of these movies on the list but haven’t been disappointed in the ones I have seen. Movies on the list that I can very much vouch for :
Movies that I keep meaning to see :
- Being John Malkovich
- THX-1138
- The Blair Witch Project
- City Of God
- Reservoir Dogs
I’ve been told so many times that I should see Reservoir Dogs, that I’ve lost count. And yes I know I need to see it, and yes I know apparently it would be a movie I would be “totally in to”. The opportunity just hasn’t presented itself. And a warning on “Lost in Translation”, you have to be in the right mood to enjoy it.
See you at the Movies!
Slings and Arrows
Coming from the Great White North,a.k.a. Canada, is this wonderful program that is now being shown on the Sundance Channel. Info on the show can be found :

The show basically follows the cast & crew of a theater group and is pretty darn funny and very well acted, in fact the tagline for the series is : “The real show is backstage.” So far I have only managed to see one episode but that epsiode was enough so that it is now officially on my Season Pass list. If you get Sundance, you may definitely want to check it out.
Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis are renewed

Mosquito
Mosquito is a fan based (Browncoat) parody of Firefly. I personally cannot vouch if it is any good as they have exceeded their download limit until sometime Wednesday. But apparently it is supposed to be.
